Tropical Granola

Today the oven was turned on for awhile. It was a little cooler this a.m. so it didn't heat up the condo too much. I love this granola recipe from Moosewood Restaurant New Classics the best. I can vary it by adding different nuts or dried fruit. This time I used a dried tropical fruit mix that I purchased at Publix. I'm looking forward to eating it plain with vanilla soymilk, or mixing it into yogurt, and also cooking it with steel cut oats for a new twist on the weekly oatmeal.

Biking...

Today my son Kyle sold his bike - (2000) Ninja 250, a really sweet bike (Hi-performance Sport Motorcycle).

He sold it to a really good guy,... We'll call him Umberto. We don't want no one messing with U's bike. This is digital America - gotta be careful.

It was a bitter-sweet moment for me and Ky.

Umberto enjoys the bike. Kyle wants another bike - and really enjoyed this Bike.

But now it is Umberto's. Umberto is - even now - learning to ride (his new bike).

Kyle is looking for his next bike.

Blessing to you Umberto. Yes, it is a Sweet ride. All the best - and safe riding - to you. ENJOY.

Now,... Where is the next bike for Kyle?

Vrrroommm, vrrooommm, Vroom.

Come soon, Mon. Come soon. Just don't forget what Umberto knows now... How to ride.
Bless you, Umberto. Bless you,  Kyle.

Ride safe. People in cars are really drive crazy!

A Homemade Life

I read this lovely book over the holidays. I talked about it so much that Bruce ended up reading it too on his Kindle, and then he bought it for me for Christmas, and then we bought it for my sister Lisa for her birthday! I loved the simple way she would tell her family stories and then the recipes for each one were so yummy sounding. BREAD & CHOCOLATE...what a revelation! Why did I never think of that one?! Let me just say now, I won't be forgetting about it anytime soon. And in between eating our radish, butter, fleur de sel on baguette and dark chocolate on baguette....I'll be dreaming of the day I can share Paris with, my love.

I like sunsets...

One of the things I love about South Florida is the consistency of the sunsets. When you live in a coastal area, it's not hard to find a location where you can see the sunset - mostly unhindered by trees and buildings.
One of my favorite places, right now, to see the sunset is at Haulover Marina. This is a sunset this past November.

First post... this is a temporary post just to practice.

Hello. Bruce here.

I've invited the florida duffs, rob-bri-ky-col, to be authors on this blog. So you can add postings of your own.
I'm going to limit access to the blog, for now, to only invited guests.

That's it for now. Add something if you want. We can clean it up later. So let's practice!
